Description

Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) is one of the leading pediatric hospitals in the United States, serving children from birth through age 21 with world-class rehabilitation services. Located in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, CHLA’s Division of Rehabilitation Medicine offers hydrotherapy and aquatic therapy as part of its comprehensive inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation programs. CHLA’s aquatic therapy is delivered within the Petersen Rehabilitation Center — one of the largest acute pediatric rehabilitation centers in the country — by specially trained physical and occupational therapists. The warm-water hydrotherapy environment supports children with a wide range of conditions including cerebral palsy, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, orthopedic conditions, neurological disorders, developmental delays, and post-surgical recovery. Therapy is personalized to each child and family, with a focus on maximizing function, building strength, and improving quality of life. A doctor’s referral is required to access aquatic and rehabilitation therapy services at CHLA.
